German entrepreneurs came and wanted to build a winery. They constructed and brought others with them. When a disease came and wiped out the grapes, they went on to grow oranges. Anaheim was founded in 1857 by 50 German families and became a wine-making community.

From 1870 to 1890, 75% of California’s agricultural workforce was Chinese. Many Chinese engaged in farming. The reason the Chinese came to California, they heard about the gold. In their country, there were wars and unrest. Like any other immigrant that comes to America, they want a better life but end up working in the fields for low pay. They built Chinatown in California.

Anaheim shows a three-part growth of a culture. There are some old Historical sites to visit of the original Anaheim if you are an old History buff.

In 1955, Disneyland came along, which led to the building of many hotels and houses. Things began to change. It began to grow and populate because of Disney.

If you enjoy art, Santa Ana has art shows downtown on the first Saturday of every month from 6 pm-10 pm, which has many artists.

This sounds like my cup of tea!! It is a beautiful coastal town, always open to enjoy great food and shopping. Newport Beach has several cruises to choose from, and You can watch for whales.
